Garden Project
Over the summer break a small group of parents and volunteers have worked together to refresh the front entrance of the school - one planter at a time! The idea for the project came from Lauren Purser, a keen gardener and parent of a child at the school.
Lauren emailed local businesses to ask for their support and was extremely pleased to receive donations of both funds and materials. This included wood, wood stain, soil and plants.
Volunteers from the local community, parents and staff dismantled and replaced the old rotten planters and removed the old trees and shrubs. Luckily, some of the shrubs were able to be reused in the new planters.

The project would not have succeeded without Lauren and the support of the local community. A community project sign is now proudly displayed outside school thanking all those who helped and donated.
The planters are not just brighten
ing up the school entrance - they are already buzzing with life, creating food and shelter for pollinators and other small creatures.

Lauren has not stopped there and is now spreading some green cheer throughout the school with indoor plants. All have come from cuttings or plantlets from existing houseplants.
